Workshop Terms and Conditions

General Terms

By attending a workshop or expedition you are accepting certain risks. Prior to the workshop commencing you will receive and sign a liability form, releasing Jack Anstey and any other member of staff of liability and a complete assumption of all risks by you for the duration of the trip. By accepting these terms of service, you are acknowledging that you are aware of and accept liability of potential risks which may involve injury, illness or death, loss or damage to personal property and belongings, which may be a result of weather, unforeseen circumstance or actions of others. You are responsible at all times for your own safety, property and belongings. Medical services and facilities may not be easily accessible during the trip, although a member of staff with First Aid Training will always be present. Jack Anstey and staff assume no liability or responsibility for medical care.

Compromises and adaptations to the schedule and itinerary may be made during the trip, and no location or activity can be guaranteed. As we will be operating as part of a group, the enjoyment and and experience of everyone in attendance will be considered. Weather, acts of nature and other unforeseen circumstances may effect the final itinerary and activity list. You understand that we will do our upmost to ensure you have the best experience possible given the circumstances.

We will be doing some hiking and activities in the outdoors, you are responsible for ensuring you are in good health to take part in the workshop. We may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, and it is your responsibility to make sure you have suitable clothing and equipment to keep yourself dry, warm and comfortable. You need to identify and physical, mental or other disabilities that may effect or create a risk for you or others in attendance.

You are responsible for reading all trip information, bringing all necessary equipment, personal items, and suitable clothing. Jack Anstey will be available for any queries or concerns you have regarding any of the above. Abuse, harassment and inappropriate behaviour at any point towards any member of staff, other participants, members of the public or nature will not be tolerated. Jack Anstey and his staff reserve the right to cancel, suspend any activity and reject any member of the team at any time.

Cancellation or change of a workshop

Jack Anstey reserves the right to cancel or change the dates of any workshop; this may be due to insufficient bookings, travel conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. In this event a full refund will be issued. Any travel costs, insurance, equipment clothing or fees incurred by the participant are not covered in the event of a cancellation. In the event of a participant being refused or removed from the workshop no refund or exceptions will be made.

Cancellation and refund policy

It is recommended that you take out Trip Cancellation & Travel Insurance after booking your trip. If you cancel and the Workshop we are able to fill your place, you will refund a full refund, minus a £250 service charge. If you cancel and the Workshop we are unable to fill your place, then you will be refunded based upon the amount of notice given:

180 days or more: 100% refund.
90 days or more: 75% refund.
30 days or more: 50% refund.
Less than 30 days: no refund.

All refunds are subject to a £250 service charge.


By taking part in a workshop you are consenting to the use of your image in photographs taken by those in attendance, both for their own use and promotional purposed. Additional model rights and release forms will be needed for any further use. Participants who prefer that their image is not used should identify themselves and make it known.


Travel insurance is highly recommended for any trip and this is no exception. Please be sure to read the terms and conditions of your policy to make sure you are covered. Weather conditions can be hard and wearing upon your gear and equipment: insurance to cover accidental damage, weather damage, loss and theft for you equipment is also recommended.

Third Parties

The workshop will will be held with support from third party services, such as hotels, restaurants or shuttle services. Whilst these have been selected with your best interests at heart, we cannot control the actions of these services and do not accept responsibility for an events, delays, damage, cancellations, inconveniences, injury or errors as a result. You agree to hold Jack Anstey harmless from and against any liability for injury, death, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity that might occur in connection with any services provided by third parties.


It is advised that you allow for some flexibility in your schedule in case of unforeseen circumstances that may effect your travel arrangements. You will not be issued refund in the event of unanticipated events requiring scheduling changes.
