Win Hill & Ladybower
20th February 2016
The chance to venture out with a group of budding photographers is something to be relished. I’ve been out on a Peaks Collective meet up a couple of times now and they never fail to leave you feeling inspired. Starting at sunrise from Ladybower Dam, we climbed through the forest to the summit of Win Hill, before making our way down through the wooded valley surrounding Ladybower Reservoir.
Walking in a group of photographers enables you to really take your time with everything; not only is everyone else taking photographs, but there is the understanding that sometimes a shot can’t be taken in a moment.
Whilst the prospect of spending a morning exploring the hills with a group of people you hardly know may seem daunting, it is almost the complete opposite. There’s a lot of common interests and mutual appreciation in not only photography, but the outdoors, the Peak District and the beauty of nature. Conversation comes easy, and is rounded off with a pub lunch and ales at The Ladybower Inn
